Zayouna Law Firm is actively looking for a new Associate with strong legal skills to join our team. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to take responsibility for many aspects within the field of personal injury law.
Job Responsibilities:
Knowledgeable in the Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule (SABS), be able to complete various insurance forms and handle Accident Benefits claims from inception to settlement
Must be able to draft and/or review pleadings, Affidavit of Documents, motion records, Notices of Appeal, statements of issues and settlement conference memorandum;
Must be comfortable attending examinations for discovery, case conferences, mandatory mediations, motions, appeals, mediations/arbitrations at LAT etc.
Required to draft mediation memorandums and pre-trial conference memorandums and settling claims
Proficient in completing settlement proposals and negotiating settlements
Responsible for all client files of which you are assigned carriage
Required to meet with clients throughout the file lifecycle: initial new client meetings, prepare them for examination for discovery, mediations, settlement of offers and as required , to provide legal advise and take instructions
Qualifications:
Called to the Ontario Bar
Licence in good standing with the LSO
2 years of previous personal injury practice experience
Superior communication, writing and verbal skills
Highly proficient time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work in a fast paced, changing environment
Excellent negotiation skills

Zayouna Law Firm P.C. is seeking a highly motivated Law Clerk with civil litigation and accident benefits experience to join their dynamic team at their Toronto location. In this role, you will provide essential legal and administrative support to the firm’s lawyers.
Responsibilities and Duties
File management from intake through to hearings/trials.
Drafting written communications and legal documents.
Scheduling of case conferences, discoveries, mediations, motions, pre-trials, hearings, and trials.
Preparation of materials for motions.
Assisting in preparation for hearings/trials.
Maintaining daily contact with clients, other parties, and counsel.
Documentation review and production.
Answers routine correspondence and initiates follow-up as required.
Arranges appointments pertaining to meetings, mediations and examinations for discovery.
Prepare files for case conference and hearings.
Organizing settlement discusses with counsel and/or adjusters.
Other administrative duties as required.
Qualifications and Skills
Post-secondary diploma in a legal discipline.
Licensed Law Clerk/Paralegal Program Certificate
2-3 years Civil Litigation experience, preferably involving exposure to accident benefits
Ability to follow instructions, be a problem-solver and offer solutions.
A team player who works well under pressure.
Able to take initiative, set priorities, and multitask.
Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent interpersonal and client service skills.
Superior analytical, organizational, time management and prioritization skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
Additional oral and written communication skills in Arabic considered an asset.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Filevine and PC Law.
