Prior to completing her Articles at Zayouna Law Firm, Yara did her summer internship in a leading multi-practice firm in the Middle East where she worked on various matters relating to International Business Law, Company Law, and Intellectual Property. With a keen eye for detail and a knack for negotiation, she’s committed to advocating for her clients’ interests. Fluent in both English and Arabic, she also worked as a contracts officer, drafting (and translating) consultant agreements for international experts.
Over the last couple of years, Yara acted as a Research Team Lead on a national research council study and spoke on a number of panels advising foreign-trained law professionals and students on pathways to a legal career in Canada. She was also invited to be a fellow on a leadership development program that provided young professionals an insight into Canada-US policymaking on a number of topics.
When she’s not dissecting case law or crafting compelling arguments, you can find her exploring a new restaurant or travel destination.
